Cinevate’s DSLR Carbon Package

Cinevate has been one of the major brands in the video equipment business and has always been in the 35mm market. As the DSLR revolution began with the Canon 5d mark ii Cinevate dove into creating products that to help outfit the DSLR.

Cinevate has sponsored some of the biggest names in the DSLR industry such as Patrick Moreau from Stillmotion and Kevin Shahinian from Pacific Pictures.
We recently had a large music video shoot and were lucky to get our hands on Cinevate’s DSLR carbon package which includes a Pegasus carbon system slider and a Medusa DSLR cage.

At first the Medusa DSLR cage seemed a bit akward but after mounting the camera it proved to be highly functional. The adjustable handles were great. If the cage did not fit in a situation like on our Jib we were able to make slight adjustments so it could.

The smooth handles make hand holding shots feel much more secure and give you much more stabilization. The top handle is essential for low shots and just carrying around your rig. It also serves as a protective cage against drops or other impacts. One of the best parts is because of the way it is made it will easily break down for travel.

I’ve used many sliders on the market, from the Indi-slider pro, Indislider mini, Glidetrack, and Zaza slider but none of them have come close to the fluid motion of the Pegasus carbon slider. The rails are solid carbon fiber to keep the weight down for travel. The ball bearing wheels slide incredibly smooth, effortlessly with one finger.

The Pegasus is designed to change your base width, so depending on how long your rails are you can get the most travel out of it. It can also be set up on any table or smooth surface. The slider breaks down into five pieces which makes packing and travel much easier.

I am excited to have the Cinevate Pegasus slider in our stabilization arson. No more missed shots because of a slide malfunction!
